Just Go Home

A Kirk Perry Joint

I am making two announcements here. The first is click on this link: Just Go Home or click the link under the movies section on the left side. This was at the talent show at Zion Hill Camp. Most of the choreography was made up on the spot except for the chorus which was done with the help of Chris Stephens. (Yes the Chris Stephens) Bubbles (Kevin Owen), Darren and I are the ones doing the interpretive dance.

The other announcement is I'm doing this live at Avril's concert in Moncton on Thursday. I'm sure she's going to look out over the crowd see me and say "who is the cool guy with all the moves?" I'll respond the cousin of one of your former singing mates Bert McCutcheon. She will be so impressed. Any ways enjoy!!!!

Sometimes things happen in life that are beyond your control and it makes you wonder if the whole world is conspiring to mess with your head. Such an event happened to me yesterday. Most of you know I'm going to see U2 on September 14 in Toronto. That in and of itself is going to be amazing. To top it all off we just found out last night that Dashboard Confessional is opening for U2. Dashboard just happens to be one of my favourite bands of all time. I've hardly been able to wipe the smirk off my face since. U2 and Dashboard in one night Wooooooooooo Whoooooooooooo!!!!!!!

Dvd update. I've sold 26 DVD's so far and have 3 more spoken for. If you want in I'm trying to sell as many as possible before October 16 which is the date of the special offering in our church. Each one costs $5.00. For a full description go back to my July 30th entry. Basically it's all the movies we've made here plus a bunch of bonuses. All proceeds are going towards our church's building fund. Just leave a comment or drop me an email at habhate@nbnet.nb.ca.

One camp highlight I thought I'd share with you was our camp point system. Every single camp you go to divides the campers into teams and you compete all week for points to see who wins. On the first night we did the typical come up with a team name, cheer and boy band routine. On a whim we decided to award the best team a crocodile if they were the best (any Arrested Development fans out there) Before the next day was over we had totally gotten rid of the traditional system and replaced it with the platypus, guinea fowl, crocodile, emu, kitty cat system. All week we awarded animals. The winning team ended up with 1 platypus (only 3 awarded all week) 16 guinea fowl, 45 crocodiles, 6 emus, and 4 kitty cats. We also gave out armadillos and Mr angry faces to teams that showed poor effort. It was fun all week hearing campers say things like "C'mon that has to be worth a Guinea fowl" and "I'll do it if you'll give me a crocodile." One of our finest and most entertaining ideas ever.

I'm back from a fantasmagorical trip to Zion Hill Camp and Canada's Wonderland. Yes I know Zion Hill is also one of Canada's Wonderlands but I also made it to the other one outside of Toronto. I have a bit of video that I will eventually put on line. I semifinished my interpretive dance for "Nobody's Home" by Avril and performed it during the camp talent show with help from Bubbles Owen and Darren C. I'm trying to convince people I know that are going to her concert here in September to at least do the chorus part so Avril can see how cool it is (Steph and Nicole!!!!) I have a bit of footage of us playing Roman Candle tag during which time I received a toonie sized burn mark on my arm. We also have footage of our Brockville adventures which included pantsings, and pummelling with Timbits. The only other big news of the week was finally getting to participate in an Anita Pybus sponsored Euchre tournament which Nate Dogg and I won without really any competition from the other finalists. (Justin Coutu and Scott Ingalls) Only got lost twice thanks to our Geography Major Darren C the first time and thanks to some wonderful map reading by Stephanie Neves the second time. Well this has been a lot of random things about my trip purple monkey dishwasher. I may highlight some of the good stories later. (Such as our new games, find the junk, find the junk aquatic edition, Tara's Trivia Triad, how many fingers am I touching you with, and what can I throw at your car at a red light?)

I won't be posting for a little while as I am on my way to Zion Hill camp. This week included a Big Brother night at Tim's where 9 of us locked ourselves in for the night in Tim's cottage. We played ultimate elimination Bruce and I was the runner up once again. Last night Darren, Tim, Heidi and I finished a 20 plus km hike from Southern Head Cliffs to Dark Harbour on the back trails. It was amazing and something we will be doing again in the near future. I've sold about 8 DVD's so far and anticipate unloading a bunch while I'm in Ontario. They are only $5.00 and I keep none of the money. Let me know if you're interested. My email is habhate@nbnet.nb.ca or you could just leave your order here in the comments section. I'll be back to chat in 10 days or so.
