Ok this weekend has been surreal. I had my own doubts about finishing the marathon but made it and then Sunday afternoon as a joke I entered the rotary festival home run competition. To put this in perspective I have been playing softball and baseball in men's leagues since I was 13 years old. In my career I have hit a total of 7 home runs. On Sunday I hit 2 in the first round which got me into the final four. The favourite (Adam Parker) hit four in the final and I just figured it was over. Somehow I hit 6 to win the competition. It's just funny to me. Most of these guys hit 10 - 20 every year. It's been 3 years since I hit one. I've been thinking with all the "fortune" coming my way this weekend I just may buy a lottery ticket this week.

I finished my half marathon this morning. (21 km) It was difficult but not as hard as I thought it would be. All those hours of DDR actually were paying off. My time was 2 hours and 5 minutes which is not real fast but I was hoping to finish in under 3 hours so it was good for me. I ran just over 16 km before I stopped to walk for 200 m and then ran the rest of the way. In hind sight stopping just made everything harder. As soon as I did my arms and legs felt like lead. If I do it again next year I think I might train longer than 3 weeks. My favourite part was when I finished, Darren who had my car wasn't there to meet me so I ended up walking home (2 more km) Actually Darren left my car at Tim's house and I staggared towards it hoping to be able to drive the last km home but Darren left the car and took the keys with him. I'll finish with this special message to my nemesis:(surprisingly not Darren) So nemesis how many half marathons have you run? Have fun with your drip drop lessons. (and you call yourself a runner)

As promised here is a list of the breakfast sandwiches that I bought at Sheetz. The first one was a shmiscuit (on a home made biscuit) Steak, peppercorn cheese, egg, spicy tomato sauce, slivered onions, green peppers, bacon and oh yes double egg. My second purchase was a shmuffin (on an english muffin) I asked for it to be toasted and added sausage, peppercorn cheese, egg, spicy tomato sauce, slivered onions, green peppers, bacon, and extra peppercorn cheese. (I love that cheese). My third was another shmiscuit with spicy tomato sauce, steak, bacon, egg, peppercorn cheese, extra cheese, onions and green peppers. My fourth was a shmagel (on a bagel) I had it toasted with steak, double egg, onions and green peppers, peppercorn cheese, extra cheese, bacon, spicy tomato sauce. I also purchased a shmokehouse burger. mmmmmmmshmokehouse burger. Each of these sandwiches was amazing in its own right. Average cost $2.50. I love the sheetz. I've been told that the new stations have the touch order screens right out by the pumps so when you're finished pumping gas you can go in and pick up your sandwich. I know I can build things up and have people be disappointed when they go see what I have been building up but without exception the ten of us loved our experiences at the sheetz. To quote Darren C. "the Sheetz has changed my life. I will never be able to go to a gas station again and receive the same enjoyment as I did while frolicking in the aisles of the Sheetz." Thank-you Darren for putting it so poignantly.

I'm Back!!!! Creation was amazing as per usual. Music highlights for me were the Switchfoot, Thousand Foot Krutch, Pillar, Barlow Girls, Toby Mac, Casting Crowns, and Newsboys Concerts. Toby Mac came out during Michael Tate's concert and did Jesus Freak. Plus when the new Newsboys CD is released with special DVD I think I am going to be on it wearing my Po tellatubby hat. I also was able to go to 4 Sheetz gas stations on the way. I'm thinking I may post at a later date what I had on my shmiscuits, shmagels, and shmuffins.
I also got to meet Caleb's fiance Jo and just for the record I think Caleb has made a fine choice. We played ultimate Elimination Bruce and once again I lost. It was my worst career showing finishing last. Caleb won for his fourth time. (probably a record) I can't believe he beat me at RPS. We tied the first three times but he beat me with scissors, scissors, I never lose to scissors.
I'll post again soon. I'm going to Drew's wedding this weekend for one last time 7 Cent Tip will be playing with its original members and then Drew will be gone forever. Or untill our reunion tour.
