Well the votes are in. Counting Tim's, Darren's, Nate's Kirk's and Lisa's vote we have 5 votes that chop Suey is a Chinese Dish and a diatribe by Scott about disagreeing with Americans who agree with Kirk. So it is unanimous chop suey is officially now a Chinese dish and not macaroni and beef in a bowl. I guess I can't say I'm very surprised by this vote. After all those that voted Chinese were right. So I'm off to Creation tomorrow. Everyone reading this should plan now to go next year. It is always a blast unless you hate good music, moshing and having fun. (Dan Boyd) I won't be posting this week but I promise an update as soon as I get home.

I had a parade the day after Carolina won the cup. I gathered all the Hurricane fans on the island together and I drove from Castalia to Grand Harbour holding my mini Stanley Cup over the car and honking my horn. Darren came with me so I wouldn't be by myself. Once again it is great to be one of the only ones who was right.

Whine, whine, whine. Kirk make a new post, why does your favourite hockey team get to win the cup, why don't you ever put on a purple thing and dance around. All I've been hearing lately is whining. So now it is my turn to whine and so I'm going to as soon as I think of something to whine about. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm................................... Wait I've got it. What's the deal with people thinking chop suey is not a Chinese dish? Can you believe there are actually people in this world that think if you throw hamburger and macaroni in the same bowl that you have created chop suey. The survey is on. Chop Suey is it a Chinese dish or hamburger and pasta in a bowl. Feel free to google it for the answer if you are not sure.

On a weirder note we finally played Ultimate Elimination Bruce again. (sorry Cathy) Darren broke several original rules and I'm considering bringing him before the council of the game namely: Caleb Lapointe, Mark Croswell, Lauri Croswell, Big Balls Bowen, Kirk Perry, Justin Coutu and the Bruce himself. (although rumour has it the Bruce has been banned from this game) I finished 7th. This ties for my worst showing ever and puts my career record up to 12 games played 0 Wins 12 losses. I finished second 5 times but that is no consolation, just ask the Oilers. Ohhhhhhhhhh snap. I lost in rock paper scissors to paper of all things. How do you lose to paper? Such an amateur throw on my part. Well once again a first time player namely: Nicole Neves won the game. This marks the 5th time that I remember a first time player winning and I think it needs to stop. For one thing I don't believe they really appreciate the greatness of what they have achieved. They become an asterisk in the game never to become part of any tournament of UEB champions. It's just wrong but this time I blame Darren for not following the rules. Squeen!!!

The Carolina Hurricanes Have Won the Stanley Cup!!!!!!!!!!

The day has finally come. The Hartford Whalers/Carolina Hurricanes are the World champions. This is my 20th year as a fan and I can hardly believe this day has arrived. I'd like to thank all Hab Haters that have made this day possible. I'd like to thank Justin Coutu for rewriting Brass Bonanza (the Whalers theme song) which was fearured in my pregame dance routine. Thank-you to Rob Meeks for being the only other real Canes fan I know. Thank-you to Ron Francis for being the real builder of this team. Your year of mentoring Eric Staal really paid off. I dedicate this win to all the great Whalers including Gordie Howe, Bobby Hull, Ron Francis, Kevin Dineen, Ulf Samuellson, and Frank PieterAngelo. I apologize in advance for how intollerable I will be about this. My favourite team won the Stanley Cup and I'm pretty safe in saying none of your favourite teams even came close. Woooooooooo Whoooooooooo

C'mon, C'mon, C'mon, Let's go!
C'mon, C'mon, C'mon, Let's go!
C'mon, C'mon, C'mon, Let's go!
Let's go 'Canes!

Carolina has a fun hockey team
The boys of winter are back on the scene
The old South will never be the same
When we sing
Let's go 'Canes!

C'mon, C'mon, C'mon, Let's go!
C'mon, C'mon, C'mon, Let's go!
C'mon, C'mon, C'mon, Let's go!
Let's go 'Canes!

Get prepared for a tough hockey job
When we come to our rockin' new house
Carolina will be going insane
When we sing
Let's go 'Canes!

C'mon, C'mon, C'mon, Let's go!
C'mon, C'mon, C'mon, Let's go!
C'mon, C'mon, C'mon, Let's go!
Let's go 'Canes!

The 'Canes crazies will be hopping tonight
A legion of the red, black, and white
Bearing down like a runaway train
When we sing
Let's go 'Canes!

C'mon, C'mon, C'mon, Let's go!
C'mon, C'mon, C'mon, Let's go!
C'mon, C'mon, C'mon, Let's go!
Let's go 'Canes!

We go crazy when we shoot and we score
It's so exciting we're ready for more
Listen up and hear us roar
When we sing
Let's go 'Canes!

C'mon, C'mon, C'mon, Let's go!
C'mon, C'mon, C'mon, Let's go!
C'mon, C'mon, C'mon, Let's go!
Let's go 'Canes!

Wow, 3 awesome services today. Our morning service was cancelled due to a funeral in our church so I went to Seal Cove Baptist. I really enjoyed it. I heard a testimony of God setting someone free of things that I had talked to them about years ago and I had been praying for. I'm glad I was lead there to hear about the results. The funeral service was for Harold Tatton. He has been a part of our church since its inception and was just an amazing man of God. The funeral was great. It was all about honouring what God had done through his life and remembering good times. Then we had our evening service. I advertised that this Sunday evening was really our morning service and we had Silas Daggett share his testimony. He is a Grand Mananer that God has really got a hold of. The Spirit of God was just so thick in the service. I was bawlling before I even got to the stage. We praised, read scripture, heard Silas's testimony and then praised and in the end 4 more people got saved. We usually average around 35 in our pm service but tonight we had over 180. Like I said good services today. Yes this is a serious post. I thought I'd try one. The experience of writing it was ok but I find myself thinking. I'm used to just typing the first things that come into my mind. This thinking thing may or may not be a good thing.

2 More wins.

We had Tony and Anne Grant here on the island as well as about 20 other people from the Bahamas to lead in some special meetings. It was an amazing time. Several people got saved, several got healed, most were just amazed at the intensity of the presence of God at the services. I came away very encouraged and I believe our church has been greatly impacted by it. (that last statement was churchese for God is friggin' rockin' people's worlds and I get to be their pastor) On a more silly note, Edmonton thought they could beat Carolina last night. Foolishness.

I've added some more links on the left. These are a group of Grand Mananers that have blogs. Some are funny, some are incredibly intellectual and some are funny. Feel free to browse through. I'm currently finally watching Dawson's Creek Season 6. Everything is falling into place now. (Joey is such a jerk)

Well 3 things.

1. Tried to sleep on my roof on Monday night but the fog horn kept waking me up. I almost fell off my roof again when I was coming back in. It's almost a 30 foot drop from my top roof where I was sleeping so that might have hurt. (but I doubt it. )

2. I did this test: Which Princess Bride Character are you? Should there be any surprise? I was Fezzik. The tall, incredibly handsome, indestrucible giant. (yes I know I used tall and giant both as adjectives)

3. I watched both Xmen 3 and the Da Vinci code. Ok Xmen was amazing but once again they focused on dumb characters like Wolverine. Ok we get it you can slice things up with your claws and heal. Collosus just did not get enough screen time. He is just so perfect and yet hardly utilized in this movie. I agree with Caleb the Beast was perfectly cast. P.S. I like Wolverine I'm just bitter about Collosus. The other movie, forget the controversy, and lies the Da Vinci Code as a movie sucked. I read the book the day I went to see it and found myself amazed at how Ron Howard (great directer usually) could totally ruin a book that actually had moments of entertainment in it. The casting was bad. Tom Hanks was really bad. Sophie was bad and very stupid in this movie which I found interesting as I thought the point of this book was to make money by bringing up the controversy that the Church puts down women. Well the movie put her down. The only redeeming thing was Silas the albino Monk. Good acting and believable. I give this movie a lemming. In other words it kills itself by being unimaginative and stupid. Xmen 3 I give a platypus. (Zion Hill campers know what a big deal that is)

Dan Lamos = Black listed.
