My favourite basketball player of all time is Magic Johnson. I described him tonight as a combo of Michael Jordan and Steve Nash. Offensive whenever he wanted to. Creative passer all the time. Defense all the time. Simply an amazing player. My second favourite of all time is Dan Majerle. (quite a difference between those two). Thunder Dan (as he was called) was simply amazing. He always had the ability to lift any team he played for to a new level. He won the 6th man of the year award several times and still holds the record for most threes in a playoff game with 8. I'm telling you thids cause I want you to watch this video of Dan that was taqken just a couple nights ago. Thunder Dan has not lost it at all. These are two amazing shots. I can't believe he does them in one take and back to back.

Watching TV

I've basically stopped watching TV. (other then a bit of hockey and basketball) I really can't explain it but I just don't enjoy it any more. This does not make me any kind of a hero of course as I still watch my TV on DVD. Currently I'm making my way through Ally McBeal. I'm only a few episodes in to Season one but it has reminded me why I love David E Kelly shows. (Picket Fences, The Practice, Boston Public, Boston Legal) The characters are so creative and quirky. It's like watching cartoon characters come to real life. I leave this subject with a Fishism: (you'd have to watch Ally to understand that) "Helping people is never more rewarding then when it is in your own self interest." BTW American Idol is apparently over early. Since Sanjaya has been voted off there really is no point to even pay attention to the show let alone watch it. Thank-you votefortheworst.com for making an idiotic concept of promoting the idolatry of Americans to the rest of the world look foolish. I am in your debt.

BTW I don't necessarily agree with all Fishisms

Other Fishisms:

I'm nothing if not redundant! I also repeat myself.
Never trust second thoughts. Next thing you know there'll be a third and a fourth...you'll be thinking forever!
Everyone is alone. It's just easier to take in a relationship.
I couldn't help but overhear, probably because I was eavesdropping.
Quiet! Let me ignore you one at a time.
Personal questions don't bother me. I just lie.
Is that your two cents? I'd be looking for change.
Nelle, remember how you hate people talking behind your back? I can't do that while you're in the room.

Ok so I got home from bible study at about midnight and on the way home noticed the waves were really high by the Castalia ball diamond. The winds were blowing at about 95 km/h. When I got home I did what all sensible people do when it is raining and blowing that hard. I called Scott Ingalls and we hiked out to the swallow tail lighthouse. It was awesome. We sat out at the bench on the point and watched the waves crashing against the rocks. We actually got sprayed from one particularily big one. I can still taste the salt on my lips from it right now as I'm typing. We forgot our tarp and so we didn't play "How Far can I Jump in a Hurricane" (technically the wind wasn't at hurricane strength) Leaning against the wind is always fun and we could jump a little further. The biggest surprise was when we decended the steps and saw that the railing on the bridge had blown over. We knew then it wasn't safe to be out. So we continued on. Fun stuff. I do hope it doesn't cause too much damage around but it is simply amazing to go out in the elements and see a bit of a bigger glimpse of the power of God. It's amazing to think He has control over these things. Oops I got serious. Sorry.

P.S. Thanks for the weather God. I liked it.

Just a quick Update.

I'm tired. I have slept about 10 hours over the last three nights combined and I just got back from a couple of hikes from today. Funny story I was headed back from the cave and was ahead of Tim and Jordan and so I thought I'd take a different route back to the car. Instead of following the trail I stayed down by the stream and followed it knowing it eventually comes out at the road. After a while I had this thought no one knows where I am. If I hurt myself they wouldn't even know where to look for me. Soon after thinking that I slipped on a large boulder and fell knee first about 4 feet onto another rock in the stream. While lying there I thought "oh great now look what you've done, you've broken your knee. Then I remembered that my legs are indestructible and stood up and kept walking. (I did also thank God for my legs at that point) I continued walking until I found the road and only arrived 20 minutes after the guys had gotten back. They had just started to come to look for me.

Oh yeah just another interesting observation about the Habs. They have missed the playoffs 5 of the last 8 years. Two of those years that they actually made it they were beat out by you guessed it: The Carolina Hurricanes. (and people wonder why I like them so much)

Oh yeah and I've picked the Rangers to win. (scoff if you want but 5 weeks before the end of the season I also predicted the Habs, Leafs , and Hurricanes would miss the playoffs and the then 11th place Islanders would take the last spot.) (for those of you that don't uderstand hockey talk I was right)

Habs Miss the Playoffs and it made me Giggle

I told the guys I need to give credit where credit is due and none of it belongs to the Habs. Good job Maple Leafs, you have served me well. Now I just need the team to get really upset and start making terrible trades and we are all set. I'm still giggling a lot on the inside. (and the outside) Here is another poem about this night:

There once were a "team" called the Habs
And they ate poisoned pet food.

Is it just me or are my poems getting really good.

Weird Al Quotes 20 -14

Here are my next 7 favourite Weird Al quotes. As usual you can listen to them on the left under "Weird Al Quotes" After the quotes I have thrown in the final standings to the NCAA pool. Congrats to Bobby Porter for winning.

# 20 I'm just a no-good, scum-sucking, nose-picking, boot-licking, sniveling, groveling worthless hunk of slime.
Nothin' but a low-down, beer-bellied, bone-headed, pigeon-toed, turkey-necked, weasel-faced worthless hunk of slime.
I guess I've got a pretty low self-image.

# 19 And when he finally came to He found little Mr. Happy was missing He couldn't quite explain it It'd always just been there.

# 18 I was driving on the freeway in the fast lane with a rabid wolverine in my underwear when suddenly a guy behind me in the back seat popped right up and cupped his hands across my eyes I guessed, "Is it Uncle Frank or Cousin Louie? Is it Bob or Joe or Walter? Could it be Bill or Jim or Ed or Bernie or Steve?" I probably would have kept on guessing but about that time we crashed into the truck And as I'm laying bleeding there on the asphalt finally I recognize the face of my hibachi dealer who takes off his prosthetic lips and tells me Everything you know is wrong.

# 17 I know Darth Vader's really got you annoyed, But remember if you kill him then you'll be unemployed." Oh, my Yoda.

# 16 You're sort of everything I've ever wanted You're not perfect, but I love you anyhow You're the woman that I've always dreamed of Well, not really...but you're good enough for now.

# 15 Somethin' I should ask about... Can I sniff the pit stains on your blouse? And do I creep you... do I creep you out?

# 14 ARIES!
The look on your face will be priceless when you find that 40-pound watermelon in your colon
Trade toothbrushes with an albino dwarf, then give a hickey to Meryl Streep

Ok I don't like dogs 'cause of their smell, inability to take care of themselves, unable to go to the bathroom on their own, can't clean themselves, can be loud and generally have stupid names. That being said here are a few cute pictures. Also a church that I would love to attend.
