I've decided to go on a 50 km hike over the next two days. I plan on leaving the Southern Head lighthouse and hiking on the back trails to Swallowtail and then walking home on route 776. I'm going by myself, kind of a soul searching time alone with God thing so if you never hear from me again it is probably because I fell off a cliff or broke my leg and starved to death in the woods. I wanted to go with no food or blanket for the night but Tim thinks hiking that far without food is insane so I'm going to take one can of beans with me. I'm really wimping out and taking a sleeping bag as well. If you think to pray for me over the next couple of days that would be great. Pray more for my Spiritual journey than the physical one though. There are those out there that would probably say that I'll never make it and you know who you are. I've proven you wrong before and plan on continually doing it in the future. Ta Ta

Guess what I've been doing the last two days!!!!! Heidi Branscombe, Scott Ingalls and myself have been making our way through Dawson's Creek Season 5 on DVD. Dawson's Creek of course is one of the best written dramas of our day and I enjoy the roller coaster of angst and emotion that we are being taken through. Around season 3 they changed the theme song from I don't want to wait for this life to be over by Paula Cole to some stupid song about holding a persons heart in their hand. (gross concept if you think of it) My favourite part of each episode is when we crank up the original theme music at the beginning of each show and sing along at the top of our lungs. Good Times.

Hockey season is just around the corner and I will be devoting a fair amount of future posts once again to my hatred of the Habs. (who were destroyed by the Leafs a night ago. They even let Steve Thomas score) May I just say that while I did enjoy the fact that they won 0 games last year, watching them lose 82 this year will fill me with joy. As would Theodore getting scurvey.

Trevor is correct we did get to meet Woody Harrelson. We went to the Much music building and Dan asked if there was any room left on MOD (Much On Demand) The lady made a call and we were in. The reason I didn't mention it before now is I was trying to transfer the video footage from a vhs tape tto my digital camera and then on to my computer and then to my website. I have been failing miserably at doing this so no footage yet. Basically you can see Dan and myself in the background of about 40% of the live show with a couple of very nice close ups of us. I did learn that this show is a complete fake. They forced us to be enthusiastic but I did not compromise my beliefs and refused to cheer for the Ashlee Simpson video premiere. It was kind of cool being on tv. I hadn't been on since I had been on the Arnold and Friends show as a weekly guest when I lived on Prince Edward Island. (Oh yeah in case you care Woody was very friendly, only made a couple drug references, and made us a snack which was very very tasty)

Caleb brings up a good point that I was planning on bringing up at sometime. That is the Spiritual experience I had at the U2 concert. I'll be honest it totally surprised me but as the concert went on it became more and more obvious why they were on stage. They were giving glory to God through their music. The messages taught throughout were: love one another, respect human rights, eliminate poverty in the world, eliminate war, and stop talking begin doing. The second last song they did was Yahweh. If you don't know the song it is a prayer (this is what Bono said) to our maker. The song says take me God, take this city, take everything, it is all yours. The song ended with a huge cross on the stage in the lights and I had shivers going down my spine. At the end of the song Bono kept singing this phrase over and over "'I'm not a stranger, in the eyes of the Maker" It was more than hype for me. I felt the presence of God strongly at this concert. (could have been the pot but I felt it was God) Without even knowing it thousands of people were giving praise to God through their words. I just hope that many make the connection and praised with their hearts as well. I did.

Best Concert Ever!!!!!!!!

My apolgies to Caleb right off for what I am about to say. I was thinking befoe the concert what my favourite concert of all time had to be and I was stuck between Weird Al, Dashboard Confessional and DC Talk. After seeing U2 live it made the Weird Al concert seem more like a Dixie Chicks concert and DC Talk more like a One Cross concert. It will take me a few days to truly express my feelings but for now let me say I was within 15 feet of all 4 members of U2 at the same time. I couldn't wipe the grin off my face for the first 7 or 8 songs. Here is the set list from our concert:
Vertigo
Electric Co.
Elevation
Beautiful Day
Still Haven't Found
City of Blinding Lights
Miracle Drug
Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own
Love and Peace
Sunday Bloody Sunday
Bullet The Blue Sky
Miss Sarajevo
Pride
Where the Streets have no name
One
Old Man River

The Fly
With or Without You

All Because of You
Yahweh
Bad
A little 40

BTW Dashboard rocked as well.

Football is Back

Many of my faithful readers are also members of many of my various pools. The football season starts tonight and I have created a new blog to follow the progress of our football pool combatants. You can link to it here: Football Pool 2006 or you can link to it from the permant link on the left hand side of the page. Let me know what you think. Everyone is welcome to peruse the pictures I've chosen for all the members. Rebecca's picture is a photo that Scott Ingalls took off the coast of Grand Manan. That is a real picture of Danny Mac as well.

Dear diary.

Darren emailed me today. His writing is soooooo hot. I wish he was here.

Ok I admit it I loved the Avril concert. She was so tiny and cute I felt like I could just stuff her in my pocket and take her home. (but nobody was home) I was able to do my interpretive dance during Nobody's Home (acoustic version) . A guinea fowl goes out to Stephanie and Cathy who also participated in the dance. No real moshing went on. I'll admit it I knew I'd feel guilty moshing around and literally shortening the lives of all the 12 year old girls up front. Best song of the night went to the opening act (Butch Walker) and his version of Kelly Clarkson's Since You've been gone. (I love that song)
Tim and I had a date planned for when I got home and I picked him up around 6:15. (yes I opened the door for him) We arrived at the McClaughlin's (sp?) Wharf Restaurant around 6:30. Our waitress (the same Stephanie from the Avril concert) had sprinkled our table with rose petals. (I still have them) We had a great dinner with great stimulating conversation.
Saturday night for the fifth time in my life I made it to the final 3 in an Ultimate Elimination Bruce game. Once again I lost. Upon reflection I figured I have finished second in all five UEB games that I have made it to the end. Why can't I win. This all vexes me so. 3 of the people who have beaten me were playing in their first game ever (Mike Ross, Rebecca Perry, Robin Tatton) I think I have been cursed to never win the game that I have poured so much of my life into. BTW the other two times I've lost have both been to Darren C which I guess is acceptable. Miss you Darren.
